Biography

Guido Portrait

Guido Argentini is an Italian fine art and fashion photographer internationally recognized for his distinctive visual style.

Born in Florence, Italy, in 1966, Argentini developed a passion for photography at an early age. After studying medicine at the University of Florence for three years, he chose to pursue his artistic calling and dedicate himself entirely to photography.

In the early 1990s, Argentini relocated to the United States, where he quickly established himself in the worlds of fashion, beauty, and advertising photography.

Over the course of his career, his images have appeared in leading international publications including Vogue, Marie Claire, GQ, Playboy, Vanity Fair, Men’s Health, and numerous other magazines worldwide.

Argentini’s work is celebrated for its exploration of beauty, femininity, and the human form. Drawing inspiration from classical sculpture, Renaissance art, cinema, and contemporary culture, he creates images that are both timeless and modern.

His photographs often blur the boundaries between photography and fine art, transforming the body into a sculptural and symbolic presence.

Among his most acclaimed bodies of work is the iconic Silver series, in which models, dancers, and gymnasts are covered in metallic body paint, creating striking images that evoke living sculptures cast in silver. The series received international recognition and became one of the most influential and widely collected projects in contemporary artistic nude photography.

Throughout his career, Argentini has exhibited his work internationally and his photographs are held in private collections around the world

His work have been sold through major auction houses including Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Phillips and Bonhams.

His published books include Silvereye (2002), Private Rooms (2005), Reflections (2007), Shades of a Woman (2010), Argentum (2013), and Eros (2018), each offering a unique insight into his evolving artistic vision and distinctive aesthetic language.

After living for many years in Los Angeles, Argentini relocated to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2022, where he continues to create new work.
